Student Employment

Student employment positions are posted on the job boards located in Carson Hall and the Barrington Student Union. You can also find them on our the Human Resources Web site.

Federal Work Study (FWS)

  • Need-based.
  • Work approximately 6-8 hours per week earning up to $8/hr.
  • Ability to choose from a variety of jobs.
  • Money earned is paid directly to the student.
  • Limited number of awards available based on annual allocation of funds.
  • During the summer, students will receive information on how to obtain a job.

Other Employment Opportunities (Student Assistantships)

  • Not need-based.
  • Positions are available in various departments and dining facilities.
  • Hours range from 1-20 per week, averaging 6 - 8 hours per week.
  • Minimum wage rate is typical.

Resident Assistant (RA) or Mentor

If you become an RA or Mentor, your semester bill will be less. You will be borrowing less loan money, and that will mean you will have less to pay back!
